Are Guling is a reef break with two distinct personalities. The right can offer longer, playful walls and barrel potential, commonly favouring low to mid tide. The left is quicker, hollower and shallower, and commonly works best around mid to high tide.
Fast & hollow
A shorter, more critical wave over shallow reef, better suited to confident surfers.
The bay opens directly to the Indian Ocean, with both peaks visible beyond the central channel.
From villa to water
Follow the local road down through Are Guling village to the beach access. From the sand, surfers can paddle through the deeper central channel or arrange a local boat drop. The host can confirm the best route and local support for the day's tide and road conditions.
